Beef Roast or Pork Loin
Barbeque Sauce
Water
I will put the meat straight into the crockpot, mix about 1/2 jar of barbeque sauce with about 3 times that amount of water and pour over the meat. Cover & cook on Low 6-8 hours or until the meat shreds easily with a fork. Shred all the meat right in the crockpot and mix barbeque sauce in to taste. It usually takes at least another whole bottle or two. Serve on Hamburger buns.
Super easy for large parties!

Pot Roast
Pot Roast
Carrots
Potatoes
Onions
Celery
Beef Bouillon cubes & water
Minced Garlic
Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning
I put my pot roast straight into the crockpot without braising it, once it is soaking I don't ever notice a difference and it makes prep quicker! I will cut up my veggies in very large chunks, that way it doesn't end up like a soup. I usually add 3 bouillon cubes to 3 cups water, microwave it and stir to dissolve the bouillon then add to the crockpot. You basically want the liquid to be about halfway up the meat & veggies. I season with garlic & creole seasoning but you can use any seasonings that your family likes. Because of all the liquid you will need to use more seasonings than you are used to. Cover and cook on Low 8-10 hours or High 4-5 hours.
The roast will end up with LOTS of extra liquid but the meat will be SUPER tender and flavorful!
You can make the same meal basically the same with a whole chicken, just use chicken bouillon instead of beef!

Baked Potatoes
Baked Potatoes are also super easy in the crockpot!
After washing and poking the potatoes I just put them straight into the slow cooker. I know some people will wrap with tinfoil but I never do and they turn out great. You can fill the crockpot about 2/3 full with potatoes and cook on High 3-5 hours or on Low 6-10 hours.

Rice
You can cook regular, (not instant) rice in a crockpot super easy!
I use just a little more water than regular and add a Tbs of butter then cook on High for about 2-3 hours.

Red Beans and Rice

ham, cubed or summer sausage, cut into small chunks (or both)
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
3-4 cups water
1 sm can tomato paste
1 sm can tomato sauce

Soak beans overnight, drain. Mix together all ingredients in crockpot, cover & cook on Low 10-12 hours. Serve over rice.
If you don't want to use the dry bean, or you forget to put them in the night before :) you can use canned kidney bean and only cook for about 4 hours on Low.

Party Meatballs
1 16 oz. jar salsa
1 can jellied cranberry sauce
2 lbs frozen meatballs
Dump salsa & cranberry sauce in crock pot and stir. It won't really mix but just enough so it isn't a huge chunk. Add meatballs and cook on Low for about an hour. Once cranberries have melted then stir. Cook 2-4 hours total.
